The Power of Panchakarma

Feeling sluggish, overwhelmed, or out of sync? Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s signature cleansing therapy designed to eliminate toxins, rejuvenate your body, and restore balance.

Here’s how it works:

  • Preparation (Purvakarma): Prepare your body with a specific diet, herbal treatments, and oil therapies.

  • Detoxification (Pradhanakarma): Gentle yet effective procedures like herbal enemas (Basti) or sweating therapies (Swedana) remove deep-seated toxins.

  • Rejuvenation (Rasayana): Once detoxified, the body is nourished with rejuvenating herbs, personalized diets, and mindful practices.

Panchakarma not only improves digestion and immunity but also enhances mental clarity and emotional well-being.

  • medium sweet potato, peeled and cubed

  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves, washed

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk

  • 1/2 cup water or vegetable broth

  • 1 tbsp ghee or coconut oil

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • A pinch of cayenne (optional)

  • Salt to taste

  • Juice of 1/2 lime

  1. Heat ghee or coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to pop, add cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander, ginger, and cinnamon. Sauté briefly until fragrant.

  2. Add the sweet potato cubes and toss to coat with the spices. Pour in the water or vegetable broth and cover. Let simmer until the sweet potato is tender (10-12 minutes).

  3. Stir in the spinach and cook until wilted. Add coconut milk and a pinch of cayenne if desired, then simmer for 2 more minutes.

  4. Add salt and a squeeze of lime juice to taste. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm, either on its own or with a side of flatbread or rice.

Cardamom-Date Almond Milk

Directions:
Blend the almond milk, dates, cardamom, and cinnamon until smooth. Pour into a small pot and heat gently. Add ghee and stir well. Serve warm. This nourishing drink is ideal for calming Vata and providing a natural energy boost in late winter.
