After summer’s blaze, the rains arrive. Storm clouds gather, rivers swell, and nature exhales into Varṣā Ritu — the rainy season in Ayurveda’s Ritu Chakra, the sacred wheel of six seasons.

Here in Florida, we experience this much like South India’s Kerala — with heavy rains, tropical humidity, and fertile land. Ayurveda teaches that during Varṣā Ritu, Pitta (fire) that accumulated in summer now spreads into the tissues, while Vāta (air/wind) rises with the instability of storms and dampness. The result? Digestive weakness, restlessness, and imbalance.

This evening is designed to help you return to balance.

Event Hosts

🔥 Kim Shelpman, Ayurvedic Doctor, will guide you through teachings on Ayurveda and Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology), exploring how the rainy season affects both the body and the mind, and how Venus — the planetary ruler of Varṣā — invites receptivity, beauty, and restoration. She will also lead a grounding meditation to anchor these insights.

🧘‍♀️ Maicie Carter, intuitive yin yoga teacher, will guide a nourishing yin practice designed to cool Pitta, steady Vāta, and bring you into stillness — like the calm at the center of the storm.
